DGA is proud to present the 202408
UMMM, what kind of disc name is that!?
It’s actually not the disc name,it’s a serial number that we are using as a placeholder for the disc until we release the First Flight edition. The name, like the official flight numbers, will remain a mystery for now.The disc is officially PDGA approved, and will continue to be, even after the official disc name is revealed when we release the First Flight edition.. As far as we know, this is the first disc to use this process with the PDGA, and we are really excited to offer this unique gem to the public. This entire Preflight and serial number effort has been focused on including disc golf fans more in the R&D phase of creating a new disc.
Designed to Catrina Allen’s specs, and honed in through our preflight process, this PROTO distance driver is set to be a favorite for many players. Here is what Catrina said about the design process:
“What I wanted to achieve with this driver was a disc that fills the gap for players who don't have the arm speed of the top male players on tour. A driver with lots of glide that still has a reliable finish. I want players to have a reliable disc that doesn't cost them distance, even when the wind picks up. So if you find yourself on the course thinking if I throw that driver it'll probably flip ob, but if I throw that driver it'll be too stable and I'll lose too much distance, then this is exactly the gap I created this disc for! It has been so fun to see the reactions of everyone who received the preflights without knowing the flight numbers . I appreciate everyone taking the time to get out and give your opinions and guesses on flight numbers.“
So, for most of us with regular human arm speed this disc is designed to be our furthest flying, go-to driver.
